Middle Years Programme (MYP) Individuals and societies incorporates disciplines traditionally studied in the humanities, as well as disciplines in the social sciences. In this subject group, students collect, describe and analyse data used in studies of societies, test hypotheses, and learn how to interpret complex information, including original source material. I am currently teaching 6 and 7 MYP students. We focus on real-world examples, research and analysis is an essential aspect of the subject group.

AP Psychology- (Syracuse University Project Advance)- An introductory psychology course about the basic principles and research findings within the major areas of psychology, including learning, memory, cognition, development, personality, and social psychology. We hope that you will (a) come to know about the science of psychology and appreciate its wide applicability, (b) be familiar with the classic theories and contemporary research in Psychology (c) will understand how psychologists conduct research and test hypotheses, and (d) will be better equipped to think critically about the nature of human behavior. Entrepreneurship- Syracuse University Project Advanced - EEE 370 is an introductory course intended to provide students with a solid foundation in terms of the vital role played by entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in the 21st century global economy. Social Studies- Global Issues of the 21st Century- Most of today’s issues have been in the making for decades or centuries. These issues will certainly impact our lives and our children’s lives. Students in this class will examine yesterday's issues, today’s events and future trends. Our mantra is identify, propose and solve. This course will aid students in developing an informed opinion about the modern world

American Cultural Studies/ US Civics - The United States has long been the land of opportunity. People from all walks of life have sought freedom, wealth, health, refugee and dreams in the “land of the free.” How did the United States come to be this way? Why has it for so long been the epicenter of migration? And is it still today what it has been for 200 years? (Request syllabus)
Middle School US History- In 7&th or 8th grade social studies we focus on the early United States of America. Topics from the indigenous people, and geography to the Declaration of Independence and the and Civil War are covered. Students participate in role play, create mobiles, develop poster board presentations and create speeches. It's really a fun introduction to US through digital history, history as a mystery, and active learning (Request syllabus)
Video Production/ Media Literacy/ Film club and Festival- Students enrolled in media literacy learn how to interpret and create media of all facets. Dating back to the very first newspaper headline, to when man landed on the moon, to present day streaming of live events via facebook, our kids learn how to read through the lines. Technology Education Coach and Internship The goal of this class is to help students become leaders in technology. That means they may be asked to work one on one with a teacher, present a new technology game or learning tool to a classroom, or assist me with one of the many school tasks, Youtube channel, Hydroponics, Gardening, Film fest, Movie night, Fundraising, etc...
Students emerge from this internship with well rounded teacher and leadership skills. An improvement in their public speaking, marketing skills, and video production will come along the way. However, this is not a typical class. This program is designed to be a work at your own pace type of setting. You will learn a lot in this class. You may fail at some tasks, but that will only help you learn quicker.
